Why is the North American "Base Curb Weight" 3223 lbs, but the "Curb Weight" of the other regions 3003 lbs?

The difference is due to the way things are defined. I'm not positive, but I think the NA Base Curb Weight includes some amount for a person and possibly additional differences for amount of fuel in the tank. Whatever the reason, the car will weigh the same in North America as it does in Europe.
