I have been following and dreaming of having an RS for years and the thought of actually getting the chance to own one is undescribable. What I'm looking for is every ones thoughts on what this car should be and what would every one want from the RS. Should the RS be an all out no compromise track star, or just take what the ST does so good and kick it up some notches. Should the RS remain a stick or use a dual clutch, and what about other goodies like HP, tires, suspension, and so on.

Personally, I think they first need to target their competition and own them. To me, that would be the STi and the soon-to-be-dead Lancer Evolution.

- 4 piston brakes, Brembo
- Adjustable dampers
- Optional deletes (make it possible to delete certain comfort amenities)
- Offer only 2 to 3 colors

Price it somewhere around $34K USD.

Take the current chassis and develop an AWD system for it, add another 150bhp, delete the MFT, Navi, sound deadener, any extra weight and then paint is either Ford Blue, British Racing Green, black or white, all with white or black stripes. Yes it must be forced induction and all driveline and handling characteristics should be adjustable. The WRXSTi or Evo should be the benchmark to exceed. We need an RS2000 for the new millenium.

325-350 hp, 350-375 tq. I agree mech limited slip, brembo, twin turb would be a great idea!!!! possible 4wheel, not nesscesary but at least rw drive. evo and sti has to be the targets.. under 40 but under 35 i doubt will be possible

Hmmm seems I just described pretty much every Ford RS series made.

350bhp/ 350lbs ft AWD (electronic torque vectoring diffs would be nice).

Revo knuckle up front (AWD should not give the bean counters a reason to remove it), wider track front & rear, same wheel and tire size as mk2 focus RS no 20+" clown shoes.

Positive down force front and rear, the rear spoiler and diffusers should not be cosmetic.

Well designed and integrated bonnet vents as seen on RS cosworth's of old, not the half arsed effort that appeared on the production mk2, the pictures of the silver mk2 rs concept had nice vents, more of that please. It took the facelift of the mk2 focus to improve its looks, 2015 makes the RS a facelift model so hopefully the mk3 facelift will get a similar boost in the looks department.

All options available on the US version if that means having an additional lux package then so be it, the RS is the top of the range and I expect it be equipped as such, naturally a no frills entry level should be available for those that just want the basics. Moonroof should remain an option regardless of lux package (takes away headroom).

A return to the sapphire / escort cosworth days of colour choices (for those not up to speed on the those times that means lots of them), I expect a signature RS only colour but if the RS is to be built in the same factory as the rest of the focus range at least give us the same colour options.

Price wise I would imagine around 40k for the top spec, the last AWD RS I bought wasn't cheap so I don't expect this one to be either, then again I didn't have to put up with dealers and market adjustment BS back in the UK either.

With AWD and good torque management between the driven wheels 235 is plenty for 350bhp. As my ST appears to have been equipped with 235 Goodyear groove hunters dread to think what wider variants would be like, however I have to drive on what California thinks is a road so my point of view may be somewhat clouded a 10mm increase in section width won't put me off.
