I currently own a 2006 STi that puts down 400 AWHP (only has 12,000 miles) and a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. I have been shopping around. I want a fun car to drive. So I have been looking at the Abarth 500, BRZ/FR-S, and the Focus ST. The Abarth is just way over priced for what it is. I am sure it is a fun car! But, at about $27k loooooooool no *with options. I have owned 3 subarus and I love them. My STi is quick and great to brag about, and say blah, blah, I got an 11 second car, blah, blah, blah. It is stupid fast on the street, but it is not fun to drive. Only fun I have had... A person in an RX8 cut me off, I about drove through his car like a boss. That's about it. Now the BRZ, at almost $29k I like the looks, I like the interior, I like the weight, but at the price range the power is too low. In a straight line a damn tC might beat it, Civic Si will beat it, Golf will beat it, oh well heck all cars pretty much will slay the BRZ under $29k in a straight line. Even the Abarth 500 might! Look I am not looking for crazy performance numbers 0-60, I'm asking for a low 6 second car. It must at the least back up it's looks. My old 2001 Celica GT-S would slay it or heaven forbid a 14 year old Integra Type-R. We are talking about almost $30k car! But, unless I drive a BRZ I cannot comment on how fun it is. But if it need Prius tires to be fun, yeah WTF?

The most fun cars I have owned is my 1994 Geo Metro and 2001 Celica GT-S. The Metro, I could use 100% of the car all the time. It was a horrible handling car, was slow, but I loved that thing. My Celica was great. Only flaw was the VVTl-i. If you needed speed... Wait, wait, wait, there it is... By the time the power came on the reason you needed power was over. But, I will say the BRZ/FR-S needs VVTL-i, VTEC, turbo, or something for crying out loud. I know it's a boxer four.

We finally come to the Focus ST. I have owned a 1993 Ford Escort GT from 1994 to 2007. Best car I have ever owned. Never let me down. Could till the last day run it to 6k RPMs. Unlike the other cars I am looking at, the Focus ST is pulling me in. Let's look at the pluses!

Positives:
Has power! Enough to pass a Camry
Handles like a boss, though no specs yet!
The tech in the car if you pay for the ST3 is amazing!
Sunroof!
It's a Ford!
Looks like a wide mouth bass!
To me, enough power to have fun, and enough to get you in trouble. *excellent!
Cheap enough to rape this car, burn the tires, brakes, and have fun with it without saying "OMG this car will bankrupt me".
The seats!!!!

Negatives:
Looks like a wide mouth bass
Since it is new after market is behind
$29k Focus lol!
FWD

I am about to pre-order this car. As is this car is outstanding! It sounds like fun! The seats!
No auto dimming mirror *oh no! To me, it is good to go fun. The tech is OMG great! Most of all it's more than enough to be able to use on the street and have fun with enough power to fight off pesky Scion tC's.

Welcome aboard!!! Always wanted an STI.
Stock an STi is a great city car. On the highway stock it is not impressive. The AWD sucks plenty of the HP away. Mine Dynoed at 240 awhp stock. Not bad but not enough. If it was not for the AWD it would be waaaaaay slower in any performance test. Around the city great, past 60 mph sad really. Now once you swap the turbo, tmic to a FMIC, and other supporting mods it will pull like a freight train. And if it's an EVO can be done cheaper lol.
