Where are people getting the information that the :ST: is a limited production car? I have seen many people saying they are only making around 7500, which sounds a bit crazy to me.

I can't speak for the accuracy of this number, but a few members who are close to the ST team have posted that. Every car has a goal, and its quite possible that the 2013 Focus ST has a number like that.

In 2011 the Focus Sold 175,709 units.

The GTI:
http://media.vw.com/pressrelease/974/110/volkswagen-reports-26.3-percent-increase-2011-u.s-sales

2010: 13,755
2011: 16,867

Mazda:
MAZDA:Mazda Production and Sales Results for December 2011 and for January through December 2011 (Flash Report) | News Releases

They do not break down Speed 3's

So Mazda 3 sales

2011: 26,661

Suppose only 10% of those are M3S...that is 2666 units for the entire year!

Subaru:

WRX

2010: 8223
2011: 13850

Lets face it, 7500 units does not seem low, especially for a first year entry into the market. It seems like a fair number.

The ST order banks have only been open a week or so, I wonder how many have been ordered so far? 7500 STs in its first year of production would place Ford very solidly in the "hot hatch" segment.

I had no idea the WRX sales were that low. The ST order banks have only been open a week or so, I wonder how many have been ordered so far? 7500 STs in its first year of production would place Ford very solidly in the "hot hatch" segment.
I actually made an error and read the wrong column. They are much higher than what I posted.
