I was at a Ford dealer lot on the weekend and I saw a 2013 Focus titanium model painted performance blue (according to the window sticker).
All the pictures I've seen on the net of an ST in performance blue have looked awesome. This one that I saw in person looked quite a bit more purple than I expected. I will be getting the blue regardless but is it possible that all these pre-production Foci (ie auto show and test event cars)have been painted in euro spec blue? That may surprise or piss some people off if that is the case.

I thought that it may have been my monitor not showing accurate colors but it looks the same on 5 different screens. If you build and price on the ford.ca website the color looks accurate to the one I saw in person ( more purple that is )

I was wondering this too. The pics on the site look blue but I seen some real pictures that made it look "burple" which I love. I was thinking about going with the blue but the blue purple sets my mind unless that gray color is more dark than in the pics on the Ford site

Are you sure you weren't seeing the Sonic blue. That's the only one that should be on lots right now. I have a 2012 Sonic blue and its a little purple, especially when it starts to get dirty.

I loved the Blue when I saw it at the academy.

It is definitely blue.

I haven't checked US build specs but the Canadian 2013 Titanium and some SE hatchback models are available with Performance Blue as a color. I definitely saw one on a dealer lot locally and verified on the window sticker that it was in fact Performance Blue. It's still metallic but it looks like it's not the same color as the pics I've seen on Auto show cars. The car shown at the top of the home page here on this site is pretty accurate to what I've seen on the 2013 car. To me, that Blue car with the gold rims up there looks a bit off on shade of blue to most of the other car pics I've seen.

Maybe my eye are starting to go in my old age, or it could be the type of lighting when pictures were taken (fluorescent lights at auto show)

Yeah, I guess I can see how you could say thats a little purple. I'm just so used to my sonic Blue that anything looks less purple I guess. I always thought the blue on the top of the page was more Sonic than Performance blue.

The guy at the performance academy told me that they definitely were units made at the michigan facility and that they were 100% production intent, including the paint.

I went back to the dealership to snap a couple shots of the car to verify it was performance blue.
Standing in front of the car it looked to have a heavy push towards purple but in the pics it look like the perfect colour. Like I said before, I will still be buying a Performance Blue ST.



With so many of us ordering these things sight unseen, I can't help but to think some people may be surprised as to the actual colour appearance.

It's more dramatic in person, my iPhone camera dulled down the vividness of the purple push in the colour.

Glad I'm sticking with my white, was looking at blue very closely but just isn't dark enough for me. Navy blue looks better to me but this was a close second. Great pics though, will probably help assuage some decisions out there for people or may turn em off but either way I love seeing shots of REAL cars on the lots. Though it's not an ST still nice to see an actual color and not a PP model or a photoshop version.

It appears to be DIB but Ford Renamed it Performance Blue. In person the DIB Mustangs can look purple or they can look a dark blue. If you look at all the Auto Show pictures you can see they look almost exactly like the picture that was posted at the beginning of the thread but DIB also turns purple in certain light like what is being described.
